Tuesday mood inspiration

I hope everyone has been having a lovely start to the week!

I had a nice weekend relaxing, celebrating two birthdays (my mom’s and my friend’s), and reorganizing my closet to include my fall and winter clothes. I can’t tell you how much I missed pants – while throwing a dress on is always nice and easy, I love getting to mix and match the pieces I have to create fun unexpected looks.

I’m all about my J.Crew Pixie Pant with the Leather Tux Stripe that I got for a steal last year – I feel instantly more glam when I wear them, even if I’m just throwing on an easy sweater with them! You can get them now for $138 $104 with code TIMETOSHOP.

I’ve been hoping to get a rug for our living room for the past few months (Eric swears it isn’t a necessity, but I beg to differ!) and I think I’ve finally settled on my pick: the Moroccan Shag Rug. I know it’s a bit standard these days, but it will fit perfectly with our decor and keeping with the theme of white and gray. You also can’t beat the price at Rugs USA – a 5’3″ x 7’6″ rug is only $459 $138 with code RUGS70! Definitely in my price range. Here are a few similar options:

I recently got into a bit of a cooking rut where Eric and I got back from vacation and I just avoided my cookbook like the plague. However I missed having my meals prepped and ready (much less stressful when I have things planned out), and I got back into it last week. I made a delicious Cinnamon-Roasted Butternut Squash Soup from The Skinny-Taste Cookbook and loved how simple and tasty it was. I’m definitely excited to try out a few more soups as it gets chillier, like this Lobster Bisque.

At long last, I got my Urban Decay Naked2 Palette $54 and needless to say, I’m completely obsessed. I’ve always been really boring with my eyeshadow – I tend to swipe on a neutral shimmery color and call it a day – but I’ve been experimenting with all of the hues in this palette! I’m all about finding good tutorials for everyday looks as well as more dramatic nighttime looks.

Finally, post-vacation blues have been real after my fun trip to Deep Creek Lake with friends. We have already started hunting around for a house that will be perfect for a snowy Martin Luther King Day weekend trip. I’ve never been skiing, but I’m excited to try!
