Something blue

For years, I’ve heard from friends and acquaintances that once you reach a certain age (often around 25 or 26), everyone you know starts getting married. You’ll start off going to a couple of weddings a year, but all of a sudden that will explode and you’ll be going to a wedding every other weekend! I feel that is already starting to begin for me this year.

I adore weddings, not only because you get to dress up and basically go to an elevated party with lots of friends and lots of drinks, but for getting to be there on someone’s special day to celebrate with them. This summer Eric and I have three weddings to attend, and I can’t wait for each of them. It has gotten me thinking about what to wear.

While I do have a few dresses in my archives that would be great for a wedding, I know I’ll want to get my hands on something new for at least one of them. I think that a lovely summer wedding color is a light blue, which is rarely a bridesmaid color (you can avoid matching the party!) and is perfectly subtle for a guest. See some of the finds I’m eyeing that will help you be the ‘something blue’ at the wedding.
