Sick day

There’s nothing like getting a cold right at the start of cold and flu season. While I naively decided not to get the flu shot (terrified of needles), I’m immediately regretting my choice with a cold that has hit hard. I took off work for the Veteran’s Day holiday and ended up spending it cozy on the couch.

Having a friend in town visiting yesterday, it was a bummer to have to sit back feeling sleepy while everyone had fun. I’m definitely eager to knock this thing out before it gets too bad! My list of feel-better tactics is sure to help if you’ve caught a bug, too.

Campbell’s Home Style Chicken Noodle Soup $2
There’s nothing like a big bowl of chicken noodle soup when you have a cold. (Except maybe pairing it with a yummy grilled cheese. (Bon Appétit swears that after rigorous scientific testing, we’ve determined that sandwiches sliced in half on a diagonal actually taste better.)

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes $3
I’m totally obsessed with these things. I wipe down my desk area and phone, kitchen counters, bathroom sink, and anything else you can imagine.

Airborne Immune Support Supplement Gummies $7
I just tried these recently and I love them. They taste like gummy bears and have a heavy dose of Vitamin C (1,000 mg – 1,667% of your daily value) and other antioxidants to boost your immune system.

Tazo Awake English Breakfast Tea $3
Drinking as many liquids as possible is essential to healing your body. That’s why drinks, hot ones especially, are so important. I like something with a kick of caffeine to keep my brain functioning properly! Having a pretty tea kettle is highly suggested.

West Elm Horizontal Double Rib Throw $79 $63
Getting rest is really important when you’re sick – and having the right materials to get rest is necessary. I love a good chunky knit throw to snuggle up under while you’re next to the fire watching a good (or kind of really bad… Lifetime anyone?) movie.

Old Navy Plaid Flannel Sleep Shirt $27 $20 code GETMORE
If you aren’t laying around in the coziest sleep shirt you can find, you’re doing it wrong. I absolutely love Old Navy’s selection!

L.L. Bean Wicked Good Moccasins $69
If you do end up having to go anywhere, keep your feet cozy and warm in easily the best slippers that exist – the extra shearling helps your feet feel extra comfortable.
