Play in the rain

I hate rainy days. As someone who walks to work, there’s nothing worse than waking up to a rainstorm. Having the right supplies on hand is so important, especially as spring is approaching!

I swear the months of March and April see more rainy days than they do sunny ones. Sad, but true. (I guess we can at least be thankful for a pretty May.) When I first moved to the city in June of last year, I was woefully unprepared – I got caught in the rain with no coat, umbrella or boots more times than I can count on one hand. Among the worst times was when I was walking home from Trader Joe’s, paper grocery bags in hand, and an absolute downpour started. There was no turning back, but the bags were totally disintegrating in my hands! I had to laugh at the absurdity of it.

Since then, I’ve invested in a great rain coat, but I’m always on the lookout for cute new finds for the rainy season. Umbrellas are fun because there are such different patterns you can find. Last but not least, boots are probably the most important of all of the gear. The second my feet get wet, it ruins my day! I have Chelsea rain boots that are so easy to walk in, rather than the tall boots that can make it harder. However they definitely serve their purpose when it’s coming down hard. Check out my cute finds to avoid getting stuck in the rain.
