I can’t believe that we’re already in mid-November. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly summer flies by, but it is always disappointing! The only silver lining is that with fall comes fall fashion. I did love being able to throw on a pair of jean shorts and a t-shirt and have my outfit made, but there is something to be said for getting to pull jeans, jackets and sweaters out of storage.
There are a few key staples that I feel like my wardrobe is missing that need to be fixed before I can be fully ready for the new season.
Suede is one of my favorite materials for fall. There’s something about the sturdy yet soft texture that is perfect for boots, skirts and everything in between. I particularly like finding pieces in nontraditional colors, making for a very fitting statement piece. Shop some of my favorite pieces that will fit perfectly into your fall wardrobe.
I’m always on the hunt for cute glasses, as I get bored easily wearing the same pair day after day. I was so excited when Optically reached out to share the pretty finds they have on their website for budget-friendly prices.
I’m finally starting to get those fall feelings – the temperatures are hovering closer to 70 than 90 most days, and my beloved skinny jeans are very much back in rotation! It has me wearing less of my favorite dresses, and seeking out cute tops more and more.
I have a handful of things I’ve had my eye on to boost my wardrobe for the upcoming season. I like to pick key pieces that will be wearable over and over again, rather than getting statement finds that I’ll only be able to wear every once in a while.
I particularly love jewel tones come fall. One that I tend to overlook is the gorgeous sapphire – also the birthstone for this month.
Happy September! With the start of a new month marks the end of August, and my no-shopping month. I do think that I learned a lot in taking an entire month to take shopping off of the table. Not only did I save money, but I wore some pieces that I haven’t in a long time – or finally cut the cord and donated them.
Hump day is hard to overcome – which is why I like to have an eye on inexpensive yet lovely finds for a steal for when I need a pick-me-up.
I’m a huge fan of Karen Walker sunglasses. They tend to boast classic oversized shapes that stand out from the crowd of Clubmasters and Aviators, and I love the use of simple tortoise and metallic detailing. However it’s no secret that they’re a bit of a splurge, and as much as I love them, I’m not ready to drop $250 for a pair! That’s why when I found the Madewell Indio Sunglasses, I knew I had stumbled upon a steal.
While I’m still doing my no-shop month, I’m starting to think that my first purchase after it’s over will be a new pair of sneakers. I’ve been eyeing a lot of gorgeous ones for a long time, and haven’t invested in a new pair for a couple of years. I tend to be pretty hard on my main pair I wear to work out in, and I’d love to have a new pair that will look as cute with athleisure wear as they will with a pair of skinny jeans.
