I have gotten myself into a bit of a workout rut since moving to DC. Gyms here for the most part are astronomically expensive (in my opinion, at least!), so I’ve been hoping to find a better way, or better value, for getting a workout.
While there are some less expensive options that I’m looking into that offer classes (I miss BODYPUMP!), I have been using my office gym to get the bare minimum exercise in. But there is just something especially dreary about a basement gym where people run like robots on treadmills that just ruins the entire experience for me.
I have been trying to run outside, which has ended up being my favorite way to work out without taking classes. While getting this cardio in is great, I’m also excited to try a few free weeks at some gyms to decide if any are worth the spend! Yoga is a favorite of mine, and I’m also partial to Les Mills BODYPUMP, which involves lifting weights to the beat of the music (it’s not as scary as it sounds!). In the meantime, I’m shopping gear that’s easy to mix and match to get me excited for getting fit!
