February beauty buys

This month I’m focusing on a few products that brighten and add shine – featuring two highlighters and my new favorite lip product. I’ve been wanting to try NARS The Multiple for a while, but the price tag gave me some hesitation. Easily the product I was most excited to try out!

1

NARS The Multiple in Luxor
$39

I was undecided on the shade – do I want a champagne shimmer with Copacabana? Or a softer shine in a light pink with Luxor? Then there’s always the classic peach-pink Orgasm that will be perfect for a warm glow in the summer months. I went with Luxor for its barely-there shimmer that subtly highlights wherever you place it. I used it along my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose, and I love the soft pink color. The formula is creamy and luxurious – I’ve been using the Sonia Kashuk highlighter stick for years assuming it was very similar, but the product is noticeably smoother and easier to use with the NARS. 10/10 – it’s a cult classic for a reason.

Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Shy Beam Matte Highlighter
$26

I received this as a deluxe sample through Sephora Flash – it’s a good size and will certainly last. Advertised as a matte, nude highlighter, I was interested to see how I liked this product. I haven’t ever been very into contouring, but I can see the value in highlighting certain areas to give your face an instant lift. I applied this along my brow bone to add a bit of glow. Honestly I didn’t notice much at first, as it truly is matte and I’m used to seeing something there. This product is definitely great for contouring in the most subtle way, and that’s what it accomplishes. It blends well and sets without powder – hence the matte title. I’ll definitely enjoy using this product to see the different ways I can use it, but likely won’t repurchase.

Fresh Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment
$24

This also came to me as a deluxe sample. I rarely love lip products – they’re often too sticky for me, or don’t keep my lips moisturized. Not to mention I’m certainly not one of those girls who constantly applies lip balm, as I feel like it becomes more of a distraction than it’s worth! Not with this product. It goes on so nicely with a soft rose tint, the smell is fantastic and light, and it keeps my lips hydrated without feeling sticky. This is more than worth the price tag!

P.S. I currently wearing a sample of the Chloé Eau de Parfum, and I’m in love. It’s a subtle floral that definitely feels grown up and lady-like. (And it will look adorable sitting on your dresser.)
