I love Halloween. Every year when it rolls around, I get very excited about picking the perfect costume. Years past have involved Sandy from Grease (with Danny by my side), a firewoman (with her dalmation) and a flapper!
I love trying to put together creative outfits that aren’t your generic store-bought costume. While I haven’t quite had a reason to re-wear the firewoman costume, I did lend my flapper dress out for a Gatsby-themed wedding reception. When I was Sandy, I bought J.Crew Pixie Pants and a crop top from ASOS, and I have been able to wear both again!
This year, I’m going the way of the West: Eric and I are dressing up as cowboys. I thrifted some old jeans to cut into shorts and found my red-and-navy gingham shirt (similar,
$55 $38 code CANDYPLS). I have some old brown boots I got from Old Navy (similar, $40 $30 code SAVE) for a steal a few seasons back, and I’m topping it off with a good old-fashioned cowboy hat (similar, $42 $25).
Don’t worry thought; for work, I’m keeping it a bit more tame. I like to go cutesy wearing black and white, with a pop of festive orange!
