Made up

Certain products are just worth the splurge. While I rarely buy a dress or a pair of shoes at full price, beauty products are just something you will rarely get a good deal on. I admit that I like doing a bit of cost analysis – how long is this going to last me? and how much is it? – when it comes to buying makeup and other beauty products. A face cream that may be $40, but will last 6 months. A lipstick I’ll mostly wear on special occasions or nights out should probably have a more reserved price.

Isn’t it the best when a Tuesday feels like a Monday? I spent the weekend in an absolutely gorgeous wedding, and I loved every second. The weather was more perfect than anyone could’ve imagined for an early September day in Maryland. I did my own makeup, and it made me realize a few products that I could afford to add to my beauty bag.

Lighten your beauty routine

When I was about 14, an older, supposedly wiser friend showed me the wonders of white eyeliner on the inner rim of the eye. And that’s about all of the makeup I wore for a couple of years, until I was old enough to realize this was a mistake. In high school, foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, powder and liquid eyeliner showed up on the scene. Since then, it’s been a lot of additions and not a lot of subtractions… until now.
