In the new year, I have made a conscious effort to get more sleep. Because I have a long commute to work, I end up waking up at 6:00 am every day. While I have always been used to going to bed around 11:00 pm or later, I have definitely noticed myself feeling a lot more sluggish than usual after getting less than seven hours of sleep a night.
After seeing the article about how much sleep experts have finally decided we need, I remembered that sleeping is as important as exercising and eating healthy; if I don’t get enough sleep, I won’t be putting forth my best self throughout the day. Here to break the cycle are these snooze-worthy items:
COVER UP WITH THESE
Blanket: Target $25
If you want to be cozy and warm, this blanket will be calling your name.
Throw: West Elm
I love the unique dip dye coloring of this blanket; it’s the perfect size to cozy up in for a relaxing night.
PUT THESE ON
Ear Muffs: West Elm $29
When you’re on public transportation trying to avoid the person next to you who is eating/chewing gum/humming/making that irritating noise, these can help fuzz out the sound.
Robe: Sleepy Jones
I love my robe so much that sometimes it ends up doubling as pajamas. This shrunken one from Sleepy Jones has a gorgeous floral print that you won’t feel bad wearing around.
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THESE
Candle: Anthropologie $10
I was given this candle in santiago huckleberry for Christmas and it smells heavenly! Having a pleasant smell can get you feeling extra cozy.
Chair: World Market
Even when you aren’t ready for bed yet, it’s nice to curl up in a comfy chair (that was on sale) with a book to mentally prepare for bed.
